Lady’s Leg Briar Pipe
The Lady’s Leg briar pipe with Ebonite stem is a one-of-a-kind briar bowl pipe that incorporates a 1903 Retro/Art Deco style molded Ebonite stem in a bent lady’s leg motif.
The original stem design was created in Germany in 1903 and stayed in production until around 1920 when cheaper imitations and a decline in demand for this novelty pipe led the company to cease active production of these stems. They kept boxes of unsold stems, however, and at the centennial anniversary reproduced a handful of finished pipes which the company handed out privately. An enterprising pipe maker who ran across these limited quantity reproductions decided to continue production of this line of pipes and introduce them to the wider pipe-smoking community. We are happy to be at the forefront of bringing these outstanding pipes to the market.
The bowls have a threaded base that screws tightly into the top of the lady leg stem. This makes it easy to interchange bowls if the smoker wishes to let one rest and continue to use the stem for another smoke. The basic pipe comes with one bowl, but we will be offering the option to purchase extra bowls. The bowls are completely interchangeable.
You can choose from four bowl styles, although each bowl will be different and will not be the ones pictured. The four options are smooth light, smooth dark, light rough finish, and rough finish dark.
