The Old German Markus Fohr hand-rolled clay pipe #10

This is an intricate clay pipe depicting a claw grasping the bowl. Similar in design to hand-carve Meerschaum pipes of claw and egg only in clay. The pipe has to be pressed into the mold more than once and the moist clay is then cleaned from the surface to get the desired effect before being fired in the kiln – a very special pipe indeed.
