Why 2 bowls?
Although, you can simply refill a clay pipe bowl with any blend you choose after smoking the first bowl and do so without affecting the flavor of the second mixture, the fact that this pipe ships with a second bowl will make a lot easier to test out more than one tobacco mixture with the same pipe. It is well known that the clay does not retain the flavor of a previously smoked blend (known as ghosting) and for that reason you could simply empty the first bowl and refill it and get the full flavor of the new blend. But what if you are tasting two different tobaccos and want to be able to compare them even as you smoke them, then the second bowl really comes in handy. Just fill each bowl with competing tobacco blends and smoke one for a while, switch bowls, smoke the other and go back and forth as needed until you feel you have a good sense of the qualities if each blend.
