The Markus Fohr hand-rolled clay pipe #62

The King George VI pipe with a likeness of the King on one side of the bowl and the Royal Crest on the other side. Another of the canned Prince Alberts, he was let out upon becoming the King on December 11, 1936. The mold for this pipe would likely date back to the period of his reign from 1936 to 1952. The exact date this pipe first became available is unknown.

Markus Fohr Clay Pipe #62 King George (White)

Markus Fohr is a pipe maker who lives in Montabaur, Germany, about 70 Miles from Frankfurt, Cologne and Düsseldorf in the region of Westerwald.
His family has been making clay pipes for generations. He uses the fine white clay of the region which has been prized for centuries and is used to create the famous pottery of this region.
Some of the molds used are originals going back 240 years.
