Pamplin Bowl with Reed Stem

This favorite Civil War reenactment pipe comes with one 6″ reed stem. The Pamplin clay pipe bowl was never smoked but is truly old. this one was most likely produced in the early 20th century, but this pipe bowl design dates back to the 19th century. Similar bowls have been found at Gettysburg. The original Pamplin bowls were factory-made from around 1880 until 1950 and the bowl designs were probably inspired by clay pipes made by the Appomattoc Indians of Virginia.

The pipe bowls are usable if not pristine, but if you are looking for something authentic especially if you are a Civil War buff or reenactor, this pipe will be a perfect addition to your collection. There may be some chipping or discoloration from age but these minor imperfections will not affect the smoking quality.
